2 Tips to Get Your Yard Ready for Spring
Posted on: 5 April 2021
Spring is a great season as the weather turns much warmer and everything starts to come alive. You can make your yard look beautiful this spring in many ways to catch people's attention as they drive and walk by your home. Keep reading for two tips to get your yard ready for spring.
Trim Your Trees
If you have trees in your yard that are overgrown, you need to have them trimmed. Trimming not only makes the trees look nicer but will also help keep the trees healthy. When a tree is not trimmed, the canopy fills in with leaves and becomes very full. This makes it very difficult for the sun or rain to get through the leaves to provide nutrients and moisture to the trees.
Removing dead limbs will allow new growth and also you will not have to worry about limbs falling to the ground and harming someone. A top-heavy tree could fall down especially if the tree has any kind of disease and is weak.
Hire a tree trimming service to trim your trees for you instead of doing this on your own. This can be a dangerous job and you could harm your trees if the trimming is not done correctly. While the tree trimming service is on your property, have them look at trees you think are having problems to help determine what is wrong with them.
Create a Flower Garden
An easy way to make your yard look beautiful is to plant flowers. You can create a large flower garden in your front yard and fill it with flowers. Consider planting shorter flowers in the front and the tallest flowers in the back so all flowers can be seen. You can use a mixture of colors or match colors together.
Choose between perennials and annuals. Perennials make things easier as they come back on their own each year. Annual flowers cost much less but you do have to replant them at the beginning of each spring. You could plant a mixture of perennials and annuals. Some perennial flowers include the Black-Eyed Susan, coneflower, sedum, daylily, and foxglove. Some annual flowers you can choose from include vinca, pansies, petunias, begonia, cosmos, and geraniums.
Visit a garden center in your area to purchase your flowers. They will know the best types of flowers that grow well in your region. They can also answer any questions you may have, such as the sun and water requirements for the flowers you purchase.
Hire a landscape contractor to help you transform your yard this spring.
